*** NEW MUSIC *** DEJ LOAF

So I finally decided to listen to the new Dej Loaf Mixtape " All Jokes Aside " and honestly all jokes aside I'm impressed. For a minute I figured that she was going to be another fly by night one hit wonder, her recent projects haven't really reached the heights of the debut song "Try Me". Buuut this new Mixtape in my opinion has a lot of potential to get her back on top, (Spoiler) one particular song with the legendary and incognito Silk the Shocker is a definite banger, hats off to Dej for getting him on the song and yes he murdered it as he should have.  Check it out and leave a comment, let me know if you all are feeling it or not. 

2016 GRAMMY RUNDOWN. KEDRICK LAMAR, TAYLOR SWIFT, LADY GAGA, ALABAMA SHAKES,JOHNNI DEPP, SAM SMITH

The most memorable moments to QN were Lionel Richie's honor performance was good Demi Lavato definitely let it known that her vocal range is the real deal, Tyrese tribute song brought everyone to there feet & Lionel came ob stage & kept people moving no shade but he was hype trying to get the other singers to do some kind of kick line dance idk.

Little big town  song "Girl Crush" is dope, what else can I say the way the play on words is genius. 

Stevie wonder gave a great beat box rendition, this is why he is still making music and selling out arenas, because he continues to reinvent his self and still retain his own swag.

Eagles performance was good the beginning was a bit weird the transition part

All the rave today was Kendrick Lamar and his performance, i have to give it up to him he has brought controversial lyrics and visuals to the mainstream media and they are all lapping it up like dogs, to the rest of the culture we are proud that he is maintaining who he is but really we are used to spoken word and powerful messages from talented people none the less Kudos to Kendrick. 

Shots, is it me or was Taylor Swift bussin shots at Kanye with her speech, ( back ground info) Kanye claims that he made Taylor Swift popular by his little incident a few years back.  On the Grammy's last night Taylor said that "people will try and take credit for your success, but know that you are the reason why you are so successful" um yeah looks like some shade to me, what do you think?

*** CUTTING IT IN THE ATL Rundown***

Okay so being that the weather has been a little colder than I can take Ive been catching up on the WE TV programs. Starting with this new show Cutting it in the ATL  cast are Beauti owner of Spoiled Opulance, Maja owner of $50 weaves, Mushiya owner of the Damn Salon and Diedra owner of JDoah. Lets see where to start, it is a shame to see black business women fighting on television over the most ridiculous things it really embarrassing and then the icing on the cake is that all these women are vicious , shiesty and beyond shady. but we will stay tuned they may progress. Let me know what yall think about this.

*** BILL COSBY, CHARGES DROPPED***

Bill Cosby as we all remember him to be our 1980 Father figure whom we all watched and cherished over the years, even through his rants and talk of the black race. Nonetheless in today's society any one is fair game to be destroyed and ridiculed in the public eye. Here is a man who is beloved by all people at one point belittled and accused of the most ridiculous charge of drugging women and raping them while they are unconscious, I mean seriously how you know you got raped, how we know you wasn't high on some kind of drug and don't remember doing stuff. For all we know they were wide awake and willing participants that did like the treatment the received afterwards ( I'm just saying so many scenarios). Bill Cosby is in his late seventies and according to sources he is blind in one eye, why now to destroy his reputation, Phyllicia Rashad was quoted today speaking out about the situation saying "they are destroying his legacy" yes indeed I firmly believe this was the mission as well. However there are some people who have seen this for what it was from the start and did not believe the allegations, for example his lawyer  Monique Pressley who in recent news have fought to get his new charges dropped, the District Attorney dropped the recent 2008 case against Cosby because the statute of limitations are up and the fact that the case had insufficient evidence to begin with. Anyways in short this is just another ploy to destroy a key figure in the black culture lets not forget about Micheal Jackson. weigh in leave a comment let me know what you all think.

*** BET HIP HOP AWARDS RUNDOWN***

 Snoop intro was good set the energy of the show

Young Dro & TIP performance was great, Dro’s hit song car & got no roof was a good choice, TIP came out & just added to the Awesome performance. 

Def squad killed it Redman electrified the beat with his cunning punch lines & animated charisma Keith Murray & Erick sermon definitely delivered & represented 

Def loaf & Kid Ink performance was ok it started a little slow & suspenseful waiting on some surprise of greatness but nothing,  so we settle for just ok the song “Be honest” is a great song though. 

Puffy ,lil Kim & Styles P was a good look. Puffy  song “don't bother me I'm working” was very catchy overall very well put together performance.

I'm digging the Rich Homie Quan performance the way he switched the song melody up was hot,  reminiscent of James Brown 

Scarface winning the I am hip hop award was well deserved

 Beat box Cypher was beyond great Rahzel, Dougie Fresh & Nicole Paris

Other good performances were Travis Scott , I  Heart Memphis with hit “The quan” one of the hottest records out right now, really brought his a game to the hip hop awards, performing his high intensity song and doing it justice, his dancing reminds me of Chris brown (just a little) he may want to work on his breathing look like he was a bit winded. Dj Holiday picking OT Genesis out of the crowd was kool & almost seemed believable (just saying). 

I really hope you all enjoyed the show, I am aware that some people are boycotting BET and the awards because they feel that they should have broadcast the "Justice or Else" march this past Saturday, but really BET made a deal to have their award show a day earlier as to not interfere with the March, ( BET has had this programming the same time for the past 10 years or so) . People the revolution will not be televised stop waiting on the mass media to show you  the way or educate you in any way. Peace..

*** JERRY SPRINGER REALITY SHOWS : LOVE AND HIP HOP ATLANTA***

One day I had the TV on the love and hip hop reunion and walked away (do do something) the sound was up so I was still able to hear the television, for some reason at that moment I got a flash back of the Jerry Springer show. Remember back in the 90’s  when Jerry Springer talk show was popular and all the rachetness that was so entertaining, every one rushing home by 5 to see the new story of some broken promises, lies or deception. Oddly it was not the story line that gave me a familiar feeling causing me to connect the two shows together. So after a while it was discovered allegedly that the stories in Jerry Springer were fabricated a bit , coerced, rehearsed and some time just plain made up, this is what the familiar air was the fake sh#@ . For some reason the way the story lines were on this season of “Love and Hip Hop” Atlanta were just a bit to overly dramatic, always some bullsh@# drama , mostly stirred up and instigated by the antagonist Karlie Red,  then the reunion just solidified the sh#@ show that it became. My point is in my opinion the same thing that happened to the Jerry Springer era is about to happen to this franchise, people require a little more substance to actually hold their devotion and attention.

                                                                                     

Final Thought: If this is the direction that they want to take the show they should get better writers or put the cast through some type of formal acting classes and keep it real we all know this is not a reality show anymore. I’m Just saying…. 

*** MEEK VS DRAKE *** BEEF IN DA GAME

So we all know about this rap beef between Meek Mill and Drake, although its not clear what started the actual beef. According to what I have been reading, Meek Mill feel a type of way over Drake not tweeting or promoting Meek's new album which Drake has a feature on. So Meek is bothered and went on a two day twitter rant about Drake not writing his own rhymes, Safaree being gay and a whole lot of sh*t I guess he had to get it off his chest. On one hand I'm like let Meek have is moment, maybe his album sales a'int doing what they expected, stress you know, but question, why you gotta attack Safaree he let you be when you stole his girl, why talk shit about him, he is living his Nicki free life. Then I noticed Lil Boosie weighing in on Drake side calling Meek a snitch and all that sh*t, Boosie what this have to do with you, why are you the Drake protector, you must be waiting for him to do a feature with you. First I don't think Meek Mill is a snitch and he prolly realer than you Boosie, see it takes courage to speak out against the masses and stand on your beliefs. The rap game was started on the premise of talent, talent to create these stories of your own words to conveyed a message, so if you have people writing for you then where is the talent? Would it be okay for Lebron James to get somebody to make the shots for him? No so why is faking talent and mediocrity acceptable in the rap game? There are hundreds of thousands of rappers I know that write and grind everyday, it is not fair for Drake to be on top if he is not writing is own material, so Lil Boosie (I luv your music) but stand up for talent and fairness, not d**k ride. my thoughts. ***BIRTHDAY BASH 20 RUNDOWN, DRAKE , FUTURE, NICKI MINAJ AND MEEK MILL, KANYE***

Ok so I had the opportunity to go to Birthdday Bash 20 here in Atlanta, theperformances were mostly good, but Im going to tell it ow i saw it first hand . 

Kcamp did most of his popular songs but to me he needs more energy on stage and he was not engaging the audience. I think his music is dope but he worked on his stage presence a little more he would be one of the best to do it. 

Bob killed  it with all hit hits that he has, he did this "free shit" routine where he gave out free stuff to the crowd and that really made the crowd go wild, he definitely know how to command the crowd. BOB brought out a new artist by the name of Scotty Atl his performance was ok like KCamp he needs work. 

Young Dro came in  strong definitely setting the stage for the other hustle gang members. 

Migos Hanna Montana is def still gets the crowd hyped up

• Migos kinda faded after the first song, they need to engaged the crowd more

Ludicris 

 Came in true fashion delivered his hits and got his fans excited  one of the highlights of the night was Mystikal coming on stage and performing.  

Wale 

Entrance was awesome entered on a skate board (IO Hawk) And then he ran into the crowd building energy in the arena,and they needed it because they had to wait so long for the next performance. 

Future 

Had the crowd & kept them hype one of the dopest is performances of the night although he didn't not do anything extra just the fact that he had so many hits , but why he has on leggings , just saying...  Future brought Meek Mills out and of course Nicki came out and made an impromptu appearance which made the crowd go wild. Future and friends he also brought drake out who killed it and did a mini set. 

Kanye 

After waiting forever for him to come on because the y had to get his lighting ang props right,  he captivated the crowd at first but lost them into his own reality & did not connect with the crowd, but surprisingly he kept then energized.  by bringing Two Chainz out. 

LOVE AND HIPHOP WEDDING

Congratulations to Yandy and Mandeeces on their nuptials that was viewed by millions last night on VH1. The couple have faced a lot of adversity during the last two seasons on Love and Hip Hop NY, especially pertaining to Mandeeces arrest and pending jail time. Last night we learned that he was facing 20 years if convicted of drug charges and apparently he has decided  to take a pea deal of 5 years, so the couple still have and up hill battle. However they decided to proceed with the wedding and face their issues together. The concept and act of their union is the epitome of Love (black love) and a true character of marriage. We wish them well and hope they have long lasting happiness and understanding.

Sunday morning police responded to a gunshot call on Queens BLVD when the arrived on the seen they found a Porche riddled with bullet holes and the driver slumped over and the passenger wounded. Sound like a seen from a movie right, but unfortunately this is reality. The hiphop world lost another rapper yesterday, Chinx as we know him was a rapper from Far Rockaway Queens and was part of French Montana "Coke Boys". R.I.P Chinx our condolences to his family and friends. Pray for a better day. 

JENNIFER LOPEZ AND DIDDY, USHER

Rumor Alert!!! so we all know that Jlo is single and Diddy is always with someone but single, they both still long for each other. Well then it is no surprise that they have been spotted on two different occasion leaving the same restaurant, although there is no confirmation yet , we speculate that they may be rekindling an old flame. I would definitely like to see them back together like enough already, you can't deny true love. 

Usher Performed this weekend during the Earth Day celebration for Global Citizen. Why is his leg in a brace you ask, well apparently the singer has recently under gone foot surgery, he is definitely a trooper. Wishing him a speedy recovery. 

***DRAKE TRY TO BE GENUINE***

Apparently looks can be deceiving according to many people in the industry. I have been hearing different stories about drake and his personality and recently he as been catching all types of shade and blows (pun intended) he has had an altercation with Chris Brown ( supposedly over Rihanna) and had bottles thrown at him in clubs, then he got slapped (allegedly) by Diddy for taking a song and now his own label mate is throwing shade at his saying "he is not genuine" according to Tyga of Young Money in an interview on "The Breakfast Club " this week. Question whats really good with the Canadian actor turned rapper who's lyrics and songs we all love. Maybe he needs some friends or a hug IDK but if you need me I'm here for ya Drake (sike) but anyway try to be real wit people and stop stealing things (songs, girls etc) just saying its not a good look homie, but we love you tho.

*** 2015 GRAMMY PERFORMANCE RUNDOWN, KANYE AND BECK, KATY PERRY, LADY GAGA, BEYONCE AND MORE***

Lets start with Keith Urban, was he drunk or something this guy gets on stage stumbles around, not knowing where to look to present the next performer (wait isn't he on American idol, so he should be used to this) then the icing on the cake he announces the wrong name, now this is a guy he says he knows through the country music scene. question how you mess up his name? lay off the sauce Keith.. 

We all want Kanye to be great again, but that solo performance was not the business, to me it was super boring. 

Now it has been about six years since Kanye performed at the Grammys and they let his a** back and he almost pulled a Kanye on Beck ( who won album of the year over Beyonce) well Lets just say this would have been ugly but before he went through with it he stopped his self from embarrassment. Bey and JayZ was looking like noooo don't. After the Grammys Kanye said in an interview, "Beck should give his award to Beyonce". Weigh in  what do you think should Beyonce have gotten that award?

Pharell performance was weird, first he looked like a bell hop then the start of the performance was slow and sad but the song was "Happy" so it threw me off. I think he was trying to hard to make this song a production, just be glad you were able to come back with this pop song ok and sit down. I'm just saying... 

Rihann, Kanye and Paul Mc Cartney gave a great performance of "Fourfive Seconds" was dope the song is everything, they did a great job. 

Was it me or did the Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett performance was alittle off, it just didn't really gel to me. What do you all think?

I am so used to seeing Usher dancing around so to see him do a tribute to Stevie Wonder in a slow ballet was a bit painful to watch, to me his vocals was not all that, I'm just saying, why we had to be the victims of that. 

One of the best performances was Katy Perry whose range was phenomenal, she just proved that she doesn't need gimmicks to stand out and make an  impact she really has talent. I enjoyed her performance last night, great job. 

Another great performance was Beyonce  she really sang her heart out and did it in spectacular fashion.

All in all the Grammy Awards 2015 were more serious and conscious this year I am very proud of the artist who chose to use this platform to push a particular message, from domestic violence to God to the recent violence from the police. It is just a good look to see them being socially responsible when they can make a huge impact on others and society.
